Who Wants to DONATE?

I’ve already sent a sponsorship request to Lomography International last month but they never replied, so it’s either they never got my email or totally ignored it. Nevertheless, I can’t afford to wait forever so I’m trying my luck here.

Below are some pertinent information about the project:

Abstract:
The workshops will provide participants with basic technical and aesthetic know-how of analogue photography. Delivered in a fun and exciting manner, central to this workshop is the value of learning by doing, through which students learn the art of photography through a series of photographic experiments and techniques such as, among others, double/multiple exposures, light painting, long exposures, making of do-it-yourself redscale films, etc. If permitted, the program will conclude with either an exhibition or publication of a photo zine which displays the genre or subject of photography in which each student has the utmost interest.

Objectives:
By the end of the workshops, students are expected to learn the following:
-Basics of using analogue cameras with confident handling regarding the many facets of exposure and composition
-Difference(s) between digital and analogue/film photography
-Indoor and outdoor/street photography
-Fun and experimental techniques in film photography
-The art of film swapping

Duration:
December 1-31, 2014 (2-3 times a week) with 1 hour or 2 hours per session

Participants:
Mainly Tibetan refugees and students. The workshops are designed for anyone, regardless of age, who is interested in the art of photography. Everybody is welcomed to join. The participants in the workshop do not need to possess any prior experience with photography. The number of students is yet to be determined upon my arrival in McLeon Ganj, Dharamshala.

What I Need:
Alas, my resources are very limited. So in order to make the workshops possible and effective, I am in need of additional supplies aside from the ones that I’ll be bringing with me, such as:

- 35mm films (any type: fresh or expired; negative, slide, redscale, or black and white). These will be used in the workshops, photowalks, and film swapping.
- any film cameras (used, plastic, slr, point-and-shoot, or disposable, any type will do for as long as they are in good working condition). These will be perfect Christmas gifts for students since the workshops will be conducted in December.
- used 35mm film canisters – These will be used for making DIY pinhole cameras and redscale films.

What You Will Get:
In exchange of your donation, you will get:
- Digital copy of the photo zine to be published after the workshops
- Personal thank you letter or postcard from the Tibetan students

Whatever stuff you donate will go directly to the NGO and the Tibetan students they are supporting.

If you wish to donate, you can mail any supplies directly to:

Cool idea! I hope you can get some good contributions! I will have to dig around and see what I can find that maybe I can send some items along. Can you use bulk films or do you need prerolled films? Any other notes we need to be aware of?

@alienmeatsack thanks for your interest. very much appreciated! :) prerolled films are much preferred. bulk films are still fine, but i need a bulk film reloading system and empty cassettes/canisters too.
