It has been an amazing two weeks! LomoGuru, LHOTD, and a new Ebay purchase, I'm high as a kite on Lomo drug!

Ok tho I have been for a while now, in February/March 2013 it became official… I am a full fledged Lomohead after becoming a LomoGuru of the Week on February 24th! Thanx so much again Lomography.com and @MayeeMayee it was quite a “My Fifteen Minutes” moment and if that wasn’t enough of a thrill, around March 12th I was granted Lomo Home of the Day lhotd!! Yay!!
In celebration, I took a leap and decided to shop around for another FE type camera since my original FE had a ton of corrosion jamming the shutter button and tho I maybe should have cleaned/repaired it, I ended up getting lucky and aquiring a Nikon FE2 on Ebay with a 35-105mm lens and a Speed Light to go with my original 50mm lens so it was a bit of an upgrade for the same amt that it would most likely have cost in repairing my old FE.
Here is results from the best of my first Test Rolls:

Is it absurd to buy yet another camera when I already have 20/25? Yes and No…

Yes…because some of the cameras are in a way redundant and seem more like I bought them cuz they were cool looking and I was being a camera shopper addict ha ha (actually it’s good that I can make a joke about it lol) but at the same time, I am not into some of the cameras as much anymore like the Sprocket Rocket cuz it is a bit too simple and not very reliable, more often than not the shots are disapointing and the lens view is off but I also love the sprockets and the easy pano and how the shots look when they do succeed and I love other photographer’s results so I won’t give up just yet.

The Belair I hate to say is the biggest example of impulse buying into something cool looking and new fangled like buying a new gadget before doing research and it has, for me at least, had a lot of issues that possibly would have deterred me from buying it had I researched user experience! I have a real love/ hate relationship with that cam and according to the comments of some of my other Lomo friends, I am not the only one that thinks this way! I have had more dissapointing rolls than successful thus far which is not a good ratio so far as compared to many of my other cams! So I will hold off on shooting with the Belair till the frigging Belairgon 114mm glass lens finally f$&&*&cking ships!! Tho I will admit when the shots do turn out well they really rock!! So I will keep experimenting, I won’t give up on the Prince of Belair! Plus it is one of the sweetest looking plastic cams around really impressive with the bellows!

No it is not absurd to buy yet another camera when I already have 20/25 and this is why…
because next year I turn 50 and I plan to match my age with my camera collection! It’s part of my Bucket List Ha Ha Ha!!!
Also…
I know The FE/FE2 is my soulmate camera. We all have a camera soulmate, you know the camera that if you could only have one camera to take with you to a deserted Island that would be the one you would choose and you would be happy about it. It would also be the one of all of your collection that you would grab in event of a fire. My FE was my first Love as well. I forgot how much I loved shooting with it till I had shot with other cameras to compare the experience and the results after many years of experience wow I am falling in love with Photography again like I am 18 again discovering the wonder of it all! On a side note My second camera love would have to be my Hasselblad but of course that would be like my Vintage Porsche that I take out for special rides on Sunday as opposed to my FE2 that I have attached to my hip always.
Cheers

Hello, my name is MrCoffee and I am a camera addict (too) :) I understand completely about the impulse buying of the Belair, I did the same with the Holga 120CFN I just ordered (and I am waiting for) and on a used Pentax 645 off fleaBay..... sigh. I guess we are both inclined to buy these things to keep learning, which is a good thing. :)
    Cheers!

Congrats on all your well deserved accomplishments! .................. Hehe, if we're matching cameras to age then I will have to live to be 300. Of course I'll probably have a lot more cameras by then. So maybe camera collecting is the secret to immortality? :D

G.A.S. = gear acquisition syndrome. symptoms include buying lots and lost of camera equipment. not a bad thing in my opinion:)

Congrats on all your recent Lomo achievements... and on having a vintage Porsche - or were you speaking metaphorically?
