Last summer, I went on a road trip to Catalonia to discover this region. I took a car, a partner in crime, my Lomography cameras, and went on this road trip. During this trip, I wanted to travel along the Costa Brava up to Barcelona, see the city and go back to the hinterland. In those three days, we drove more than 1000 km and we didn’t reach Barcelona but it’s okay because the nature here is wonderful.

We left Montpellier (France) and drove on the highway and crossed the border by the mountain roads. It is really painful and dangerous to drive on these roads but the landscapes are breathtaking. The coast is made of beautiful creeks. My favorite place was Cap de Creus. We drove to the lighthouse and swam in the creeks around. We climbed 500 meters of shale eaten by erosion to reach the small creek. The landscape and the waters’s colors were beautiful. The rocks were covered with sponges, shells, mussels, sea urchins, and corals. It’s an amazing place for snorkeling.

Lovely photos! This north section of the Costa Brava is marvelous, it is the wilder area in the coast and much more isolated than the southern part. The Cap de Creus has a special feeling
