Meeting Friends Through Lomography with Stouf and His LomoDiary

13

We live in a Lomographic world formed online via messages and lovely Lomographs. Sure, we have no doubt regarding that. And really, we have to thank the internet for bridging us together and creating connections that may last a great lifetime.

It's easy to find friends but it's difficult to find friends that you really can connect with. The ones you can chat and hang-out with for hours and hours. That's why it's a great deal how stouf bonded with his Lomographic peers in his hometown. Let's read all about it in his LomoDiary!

Back when I was living in Québec, I used to hang-out with rater who I miss a lot! My other real-life contact with Lomographers occurred a few months ago when katoun, vicuna and wil6ka came for a visit down under in Hobart where my wife and I are living now. Having these living legends for almost two weeks at home was exceptional. I was working during their visit so they went around on their own. Yet we still found time to take some walks and shoots together. And it was a blast! It is so nice to be around people who understand your passion. And I’ve known these guys virtually for quite some time, having many exchanges and enjoying our common tastes. Meeting them in the flesh definitely confirmed we were true friends.

Stouf shares with us some stunning snaps from his LomoDiary!

Happy Lomographers!

It sure was a great moment for stouf to meet and bond with these Lomographers whom he have met online but turned real life friends! It's amazing that in a short amount of time, they were able to share their stories analogue related or not.

For now, stouf sure is keeping the bond in our Community and is planning on a few Lomographic stuff in the future! He tells:

A great source of excitement is a future LomoLocation in a very special place. But I’d rather not kill the surprise... But I can tell you about a future Tipster in which I attached an old folding camera to a Holga 6X12 back.

The Pinnacle [LC-Wide].

I’ve been thrilled with that homemade camera for quite some time until you guys came up with the Belair and finally filling the 6X12 gap in the Lomo family. I’ll still find some time to write this Tipster down even if it will sound less exotic. The 6X12 shots shown in this post were taken with that camera.

Lastly, we asked stouf to share a song or movie that has made an impact in his personal life.

I have to confess with a bit of shame because it isn't a gem in the history of cinema that the movie Le Grand Bleu had a big impact in my life.

I was a kid at that time, doing similar stuff in summer as the hero during his childhood in Greece. The first minutes of the movie felt incredibly familiar to me and gave me waves of nostalgia. I started scuba-diving at 10 and I am now a 32 year-old Oceanographer. As a kid, Cousteau was my hero too! And The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou at present is one of my favourite movies.

That sure was a refreshing interview, knowing bits and pieces about stouf's Lomographic life! Thanks, stouf!
