Situated in the Mekong Valley, it is a laid-back city void of traffic jam, noise pollution and other qualities of a bustling metropolis; a perfect getaway from the clutter of urban life.

    Vientiane (ausgesprochen "Wieng Chan") ist die Hauptstadt von Laos. Letztes Jahr im August haben wir dort einen Familienurlaub gemacht und hatten eine gute Zeit. Im Mekongtal gelegen, ist es eine entspannte Stadt ohne Verkehrsstaus, Großstadtlärm und anderen Nachteilen hektischer Metropolen; ein perfekter Fluchtort vor dem Wirrwarr städtischen Lebens.

    Luang Prabang is an idyllic town just north of Vientiane and has been accorded as an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. The fastest way to get to Luang Prabang is to catch a flight from Vientiane domestic airport. Flight time is just under an hour. Another alternative is to travel by coach and it takes about 10-11 hours to get to Luang Prabang from Vientiane.

Die andere Option wäre der Bus, dieser braucht aber für dieselbe Strecke 10-11 Stunden.
