Be Ready for Your Next Shot With the DIY Sling Strap for the Holga 135
3 9 Share TweetYour Holga 135/135BC will always be by your side with this DIY sling strap. A simple, neat and effective way to bring your camera around and keep it ready for those shots.
The Holga 135/135BC comes with its own wrist strap, but I find it a little bit uncomfortable. So, I took inspiration from the R-strap and Y-strap (Google those terms and you’ll see what I mean) and set out to make my own little version of them.
For about $5, I managed to find a few items that sufficed:
1. A nylon strap (I chose one with a buckle for easier release from my upper torso)
2. Adequately-sized key rings; one that would be able to slide up and down the nylon strap with ease and another to fit the hook on the existing Holga wrist strap
3. Existing hook on the Holga 135/135BC wrist strap
Adjust the strap according to the size of your body and wear it like you would a sling/messenger bag. Your camera should rest slightly above your hip. The bigger key ring will aid you to “slide” the camera up to your eye level when you wish to take a shot and bring it back down to your hip once you are done. It will be ready to go at any time for the next shot.
Cheerios!
The Holga 135BC will veil your images in mystery. “BC” stands for “Black Corner”, as this camera creates a shadowy vignette in corners of your photos. See this mysterious beauty in our Shop!
