The Gokstadship

Built ca the year 890. 23.8m long. 5.2m wide. 16 pairs of oars. The sceleton of a man, 50-70 years old, was found in the grave. A gameboard with "gamepieces" , fishhooks and some gear for a horse was found aboard the boat. On the outside of the boat they found kitchenutensils, six beds, a tent and a sleigh. Also in the grave there was 12 horses, six dogs and a peacock(!) and three smaller boats.
