Franka Solida III E Test-Role

Somewhen in spring 2013 I bought an ancient Franka-Solida III E from 1950es
The special with this old folder is the E in its name. That stands for Entfernungsmesser or in english Rangefinder. This is one of few Folder Cameras from the 1950es that has an integrated Rangefinder.

@jean_louis_pujol nearly. the one you showed in your link is the more modern version, that goes up to 1/500 mine looks different in the viewer / rangefinder area and only goes up to 1/250
And it is always difficult with Franka-Solida and how they named cameras. And also when they were build. A lot Cameras have an imprint "Made in Germany US-Zone" But this would only be political correct between 1945 and 1949, but such cameras were build also in mid 1950es
    This is mine: www.google.de/imgres?q=franka+solida+iii+e&safe=off&amp…

Oh and at the link I shared you see a silver Franka print at the front above the Lense. Mine is Imprinted there Solida III.
And I had the luck that it was offered as Solida III not as III E, that is a bit difference in what you pay for.

@herbert-4 the Franka-Solida Folders were well known that time for their high quality. Especially the Lenses. With exeption of some later series made more four youngster, the originally Solida Series all have f 2.9 lenses.
Especially for the early after WW II ones made around 1951 that was something special. When you get one at it is in good condition you know what I mean. And with good luck, as I had, you get a III E but the seller dont offer it as an E, so it dont get that expensive.

@darryl1208 I got lucky with the Iskra that the automat film counter actually worked and it was not worn out. The Soviets made them with fair quality and excellent lens, but almost all got heavily used. Mine was cheap, sort of, lightly used, bellows intact, and Camera Max was willing to CLA it for $70. It had bad dry grease. Works good now!
