It's a bird! ... No, it's a plane! ... Hey wait, is that a dog? Uh-huh, looks like it is one jumping (or flying) in the air! And in this fancy moment, why not take a Lomograph? Make it redscale, too! (POTD 04.16.12)

Going fast, freezing time. Movement, momentum. This is one of my favourite lomographs ever, because I didn´t know how it would turn out until I got my photos back from the lab. I did not think about the outcome when I shot it. I just took it. Don´t think, just shoot!

Expose lower half first, and set a tripod upside down and expose upper half in the same way as 1st shot. To turn tripod 180 degrees, I used two panheads. About 10 seconds each. Using a cable release and black adhesive tape (to mask the light sensor of LC-A+). Vivid blue or purple colours are by trucks decorated with light bulbs. Needed patience and concentration...

Dippemess is a tradition which dates back to the 14th century. At that time, the Maamess, as it was then called, was a medieval market for domestic articles. Potters from the Westerwald, Kannebäckerland and Urberach came here to sell their wares, especially their ceramic bowls and pots. These were known in the Frankfurt dialect as 'Dippe' from which the event soon took its name. Over the years, more and more fairground booths and popular attractions joined the market as well. The Dippemess today is Frankfurt’s largest fair and a lot of fun :)

These are my "raw scans" I use as a starting point for further processing. Raw means scaned with SilverFast Software to HDRi raw format at full resolution of the scanner. Developed with SilverFast HDR Studio to JPEG - using Negafix film profiles, iSRD dust and scratch removal where possible and GANE grain- and noise elimination if needed. The images are scalled down during die "development" process to reflect the gap between the nominal resolution of the scanner and the much lower effective resolution the hardware provides (35mm to 6000x4000 px, 120 film scaled to 6000x6000 or 6000x4500 px). These JPEGs are imported to Lightroom for easier cropping, rotating and applying meta data. These Lightroom exported images are the real "raw" data I use for any further processing. All images shown are C-41 negatives (color and B&W). The result can be found here (http://www.lomography.de/homes/cfehse/photos/20586106).

Shots taken in the quarter around the main station in Luxembourg at night and in the early morning. The images are a bit over the limits of the film and camera. A faster lens would have been better but the "dream sellers" in place were suspicous enough about me standing around and taking pictures so I left the Nikon in the bag.
