Fought during the hellenic revolution against the ottoman empire.Eventually some of Greece's territories were liberated , but after Kapodistria's assasination [the greek governor of greece] by his political enemies a foreign governement was installed.A governement consisted by the underage king Othon and his regents.After the greek liberation Gritzalis , among some other courageous fighters , was put at the sidelines.In 1834 Gritzalis organised a revolution against the regents in a attempt to be heard by the young king.He demanded more political rights for the greek people and the stop of the judicial and executive maltreatment by the regents.Gritzalis failed to achieve his goals , he was captured and executed during the same year that the revolution begun.His last words were ''In vain , i die my brothers , because i fought for Greece''.
