    I wanted to start a theme and collect atmospheric shots of windows. Just found two nice enough - so a very small album - but extendable. Shot from inside out done with a Zeiss Contaflex late summer last year and the second one with a Rolleiflex 35SL in Denmark a couple of years back (on AErö)

  • Mudhole Eye Health Centre - Solar Power

    A quite interesting project I supervised 2006 and 2007. After the construction of an eye health centre in Andhra Pradesh we installed a solar power system to secure electricity in this remote area. There was hardly any secure electricity in this area but a lot of sun! I almost forgot this roll.

    I haven't used my Praktica L2 for some time now. The camera has now accompanied me for the last eight days on my bike trips, town walks, watching clouds and visiting my son in Mainz. Instead of the original Jena Tessar lenses I mounted my Helios 44. Semi stand development in Rodinal at 21° for 1 hr.

    My first Lomo Chrome Purple. Loaded in a Rolleiflex 3.5 F and exposed at 100 ASA. Shots done during a nice walk through the wine hills in our home area and during a visit to my son and his fiancée in Mainz. I still need to get a feeling for this film - but the results are encouraging.

    I almost forgot that I owned this strange vehicle - a Fiat 700 panel van. I bought it in the seventies to do a trip through France, Spain and Portugal - the latter just after the Nelkenrevolution. I gave up this idea as the car was not strong enough with just 23 PS and 700cc. We did the trip finally with a VW Typ 147 (called Fridolin).     Shots show a small sample of a community development programme in Cambodia. I loved such trips as it showed why I had to produce all the excel sheets, log frames, budget tables and reports. The programme was focussing on women empowerment but also the inclusion of persons with particular needs. It addressed the livelihood of the entire community in Takeo (approx. 100km from Pnohm Penh/Cambodia). The two sun down shots are from an evening stroll on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Canon EOS 500 loaded with Kodak Colour 200. Done in 2008. .

    Again an album with shots from my tours (walks and bike rides). This time in colour - a Lomo Colour 100 loaded in a Cosina CX-2. My third roll with this camera and I am not overwhelmingly impressed. Shots at infinity do not get sharp and also the light metering does not work properly. Even though my Lomo LCA shows serious signs of wear and tear and even though I have always to carry some small screws with me to fix the LCA...I prefer it over the Cosina CX-2. Nevertheless I like this album - the short comings of the camera combinded wiht the Lomo Colour film provide a nostalgic touch to the photos - some almost like paintings.

    My only visit to a Latin American Country. It was in 2010 where I had been in the Caribbean Region for a work related assignment. I was invited by a friend to stay with him for an extended weekend (4 days) in Ecuador. En route our plane was grounded (attempted coup d'état in Ecuador) in Bogota/Columbia for one night. So I had the opportunity to have a short stroll through Bogota. It just lasted for 10 minutes as I was asked by the military, in an extremely friendly and polite manner, to get back into my Hotel. They even allowed to take a shot of them. Photos taken with a Canon EOS 500 (Rebel)

    Triple exposed film - an idea from @guja and @klawe who started to expose the film in Berlin and surroundings. Klaus with winterly landscapes and Gudrun mainly with shots during visits to the animal parks. I took random shots during walks and bike trips but also city strolls. I tried to take shots of open spaces to provide somekind of a frame to that what Gudrund and Klaus did. I am quite delighted with the results - the frames fitted and also the selected motifs created a very nice symbiosis. Gudrun and Klaus took their Minolta X 700 and I the Canon EOS 500. The film was still from an old stock of Orwo NP20 Film (80ASA). We all exposed at 125 ASA, in some bright lighting conditions I switched to 160 ASA. Developed in Amalaco AM 74, solution 1+9 for 5min30seconds.

  • Short Tales of the Black Forest

    First trial with a Lomo Babylon 13. Not easy to handly due to the low ASA of just 13. Results as expected in most of the cases with strong black and white contrasts. But was also surprised that the film has its soft sides with some shades of grey. Developed in AM 74 (Amaloco) for 5'30'' agitated. Shots done during a short holiday in the Black forest last week and some in the surroundings of my home town

    Unspoilt nature, small villages,a fresh breeze, long bike rides or just watching the Elbe flow - just let your soul dangle. These are the characteristics of this area in Germany called the "Altes Land" (old country). In close vicinity the charming hustles and bustles of Hamburg. The shots of this album give an impression of that area - from Hamburg to Glückstadt in the North. Nikon FM loaded with an Ilford Delta 400 (24 roll) and a Lomo Berlin Kino 400. Unfortunately there seems to be a problem with the curtain of the camera (white bars in some of the photos) - or mistakes in the development process? - will have to watch this for the next roll. Suggestions welcome - may be some of you have similar problems. Home developed in Rodinal 1+25 for 10 minutes.

The second swap project with @Manu2021 is already in the pipeline: Hamburg meets Barcelona!

    A typical upload: Random shots done during my many walks and bike trips around my home area. Expired Fomapan 200 loaded in a Canon EOS 500N. Highlight is a visit to a small Citroen dealer in the middle of the Odenwald (Hoxohl) where some vintage vehicles attracted my attention. I scanned 10 shots by accident in the colour modus - I like the nostalgic warm tones - almost sepia style, hence I kept this "error".Developed in Rodinal 1+25 for 7 minutes agitated.

    Slides from a Bangladesh tour some 10 years ago - did let them scan only recently by a professional service (plustek) rather doing it on my own with my simple Canon Mark II Scanner. I think the results are breathtaking and the difference makes me think. Canon EOS loaded with a Fuji Chrome Provia 100.

    A new camera - I could not resist; I was the only bidder and got the Canon AV-1 at very low price (<30 Euro) in almost mint condition. This is my first roll (Fuji Colour 200) taken at four different locations (and days in January 22): at my home village Bensheim Auerbach, the neighbouring village Zwingenberg, during a nice walk through the "Rose-Height Park in Darmstadt and during an extensive hike through the "wild valley" in Rhineland-Palatinate on a cold and grey January morning. I start to like the camera - a quick shooter. The disadvantage is that you cannot switch off the time-automatic mode.
