   You don't need a new scanner! These are the "Newton rings", they happen when the negatives touch the scanners glass, so you're safe! :-)

   Thanks Maria. I just spent quite a while looking thu' Amazon and ebay for a new scanner - lucky for me I didn't purchase one. Thanks forthe likes as well.
