These look like birch bracket mushrooms! Rather poisonous! They are traditional medicine for ridding you and your dog of whipworms. You get whipworms from being licked by your dog, and your dog gets whipworms from eating poop with whipworm eggs. I have no idea why I still remember this from a horticulture class long ago...

Looks somewhat different from birch bracket mushroom for me, besides I only met birch polypore on birch, never on any other kind of trees. I don't think birch conks are really poisonous, some people eat them, I tried once but was not impressed by their taste. Their medicinal uses are numerous and they are intensively investigated for more. As for mushroom seen here I tried to identify it but I had doubts . Now I only remember that their spore print was not white (as should be for birch conk). Thank you for your comment. I love to watch and photograph mushrooms.
