Continued problems with getting the right light setting - all of these are ISO 12. But bigger problem is deposits on the negatives. This occurred on the first batch but I was able to wash it off with much work, not so much these. Even washing them resulted in some damage, but not much improvement. I assume it is either my sodium thiosulfate fix where ammonium is called for (but not available) or potassium alum as hardener. The original wanted a formaldehyde hardener. So next time we will go without just to see, and swap fixes. Colors are still mostly good where the development process didn't overwhelm it, or where the lighting worked. I don't think the main problem is in the 40 year old emulsion at this point, I think it is in the developer (me). #kodak #eastman #ektachrome #slide #duplicator #1977 #vintage #lomo #lomography #expired #homebrew #c22 #c-22 #e4 #e-4 #film #analog #filmisnotdead #filmneverdied

@klawe yes, I'm trying to stay at room temperature, mostly because the chemistry is rated at 20-22 degrees. The newer process E4 films were done at 30 degrees, so I think the emulsion is safe, but I think the salts in the process are really hanging around too much. I have a roll I just developed with no hardening bath, done at room temp and ammonium fixer, we'll see how that goes... Thanks!
