#Homebrew #Homemade #Parodinal experiment with #expired film. #Kodak #plus-x pan shot at ISO 50. PA rodinal is a #handcrafted developer that mimics the effects of Rodinal. Rodinal is probably the oldest commercially available developer. It is a compensating developer based on 4-aminophenol, which we replicate with freely available acetaminophen or paracetamol tablets. It is also a weak color developer which, applied to this panchromatic black and white film, we can see that some color wavelengths get sensitized in the film - not always the correct color, but very interesting. For this I used the #parodinal calculator and came up with 19 grams of acetaminophen (38 500 gram tablets) 33 grams of sodium hydroxide (lye) and 45 grams of potassium metabisulphite (commonly used in wine production). This was combined with 250 ml water and allowed to sit for 72 hours. These pictures are the second batch, developed at 1:50 dilution (1ml of parodinal ro 50ml of water) one shot developer. Stand developed for 20 minutes, water stop and fixed with Ilford 1:4 hypam fix. Toned pictures are as scanned, color pictures are done with post production adjustments, but no effort was made to " #color " or " #colorize " the negatives. Just how it worked out. And, yes, my #adirondack chairs are yellow. Weird huh?
