I've been developing my XX in xtol and its very good but these half frame shots are encouraging me to give rodinal another try, they're amazing, well done.

@charliedontsurf My way to Rodinal went through Diafine which I really liked. Then DDX which I was kinda like "meh" and then Rodinal and then hooked. Diafine was the one I started with, it was super easy. I think I stopped b/c I wanted to try other things but I would still highly recommend it. That said, Rodinal is awesome. It can do some many things so well.

Rodinal adds character to a lot of shots, especially slow fine films, fp100 springs to mind and I love it with foma 100. The faster films though can be a different story, sometimes the grain can overpower and with XX I've had really horrible results but you seem to have tamed it. As you have said elsewhere though, its best to underexpose a little with this film, don't expose for the shadows, expose for the mids, that's what I am learning anyway.

@charliedontsurf Once I'm done with my current stock (XX and Orwo N74) I'll be heading back to Foma 400. I really really like this film. I've never shot slow film. At least not developed in Rodinal. The slow films I have used (Orwo TF12d) i souped in Tetenal Neofin Blau. But now I'm out of that so will try with Rodinal. I'm sure it'll awesome. Things go better with Rodinal.
