Figured fountain was built in the 1930s, during the construction of the Park of Culture and Recreation. It was on it was installed the legendary sculpture of Ivan Shadr "The Girl with the Paddle". Originally the fountain was closer to the Crimean shaft, but after the reconstruction of 1955 it was moved to the center of the parterre of the park. here every evening (in the summer at 22:00, in the spring and in the autumn at 20:00) light-music performances begin.
