Lonely Phone

Poor old pay phone....left out in the cold and very, very lonely. In today's age of mobile-everything, instant connections and texting I don't think any device personifies loneliness more than an old pay phone. You know no body is ever going to use it again and when it resides against a drab, gray wall in a not-so-well traveled shopping center, chances are greater that it will be vandalized before ever having the chance to help someone reach out and touch another person. Pay phones used to be life lines, devices used to convey good news and bad. They were THE way to stay in touch on the road and now.....they're just dead lines with no dial tones. Very sad and lonely, indeed.
