This "baby" she picked up on the road at dawn when she rode a bicycle. He must have been hit by a car during the night. Young Merlin didn't look hurt or scared. He was absolutely composed and completely calm. He confidently sating on the open palms of his savior and on my hands too. He squeezed our fingers very tightly with his clawed paws. Unlike other "kids" of birds I knew, he was not curious, did not ask for food, drank a little, but did not eat anything. I think he was injured. Perhaps I understand such brave "kids". It is cozy in the parental nest, but so cramped and boring that you don’t want to pay attention to the warnings and advice of your parents. Especially when you already have big wings that you really want to experience for ten days already ... P.S. A few days later we were informed by the bird hospital that the bird had recovered from the blow and was beginning to recover. It is with you, the highly respected inhabitants of this unique Internet resource, that I want to share one revelation. Every time I load a Konica film maded in the mid-90s into my camera, I experience a thrill creative of emotion. (Almost true.) Veteran photographers have told me more than once that even in their young years, the thought of the Konica films set in motion their creative thought. (Almost a joke.) Therefore, every time I load a Konica film maded in the mid-90s into my camera, I think with great gratitude of those great outstanding technologists and specialists, probably of Japanese enterprises, that have managed to make such film from wich tremble for more than three decadesprofessional photographers and amateur photographers. Testing a new Kodak Retina 1A (Model 015 from 1953-56) with the Schneider Kreuznach lenses 1:2.8. Potdam Kino Film 100 ASA. Home processed in Rodinal 1+100, one hour semi stand at 20°). Shots were done during a biking trip from Sinsheim to Ladenburg via Heidelberg (along the Elsenz and the Neckar) as well as during a short trip to Staufen/Freiburg in the Black Forest
Another attempt to get the best out of Agfa APX film... And to make it extra challenging, I loaded the roll into my magnificent but strangely temperamental Retina I and added an untested Toshiba flash. The results are... variable.
Castle Auerbach is a medievial castle build in the 13th century. It is overseeing Bensheim-Auerbach, the village I am living in. This roll represents a walk to the castle with my wife and visiting daughter on a sunny Sunday afternoon in October. The roll is completed with some shots from Bensheim city (more a village too). Kodak Retina 1A loaded with Fomapan 200. (semi)Stand developed in Rodinal 1+90, for 1hr. Agitated the first 30 seconds and 4x after 30 minutes.
A beautiful Sunday - sun, blue skies and cool clean air. A great day for a good bike ride - circa 30 km along one of the most beautiful part of the Bergstrasse between Heidelberg and Zwingenberg. Kodak Retina 1 A loaded with Ilford Delta 400 and Kiev 88 loaded with Formapan 100. Ilford developed in Rodinal 1+100, semi stand for 36 minutes at 21°C. Formapan in Rodinal 1+100 for 18 minutes, 21°C, modestly agitated.

A cold, cloudy and dark December morning and a long walk from Bensheim to Seeheim-Jugenheim at/in the Bergstrasse/Odenwald in Germany/Hesse near Darmstadt. Passing by the Castle of Heiligenberg (Holy Hill), rather a "sophisticated" Villa from the early 19th century. Kodak Retina 1 A loaded with a Fomapan 200. Developed in AM74, solution 1+7 for five minutes. Two frames were done later to complete the film. They show my beloved 29yr old 'Swedish brick' as well as one of my favourite classics - a Morris Minor. Unfortunately it was the last frame, hence only one shot of this beautiful car.
A short break in the Black Forest - near Freiburg. It took me almost 5 decades to "re-recover" the Black Forest. It was the place where my parents did go when we were kids. Long distance walking to explore the nature was the main programme - not always my taste when I was a kid I have to admit. But now I understand and appreciate - a beautiful area. And I do listen to one of my favourite recordings of Al di Meola, John Mc Laughlin and Paco de Lucia interpreting Chick Corea's piece "Short tales of the Black Forest"! This album will be continued. Some rolls still needs to be developed. Main cameras are the Kodak Retina 1A, Canon AE 1 - colour roll taken with a Rolleiflex TLR 3.5 - however not uploaded yet. Black and white developed in AM 74 for 5 Min (Retina) and 5.3 (Canon) agitated.
