First ever Nikon S2 50mm f1.4 lens test. (mid 1950's) w/ Gossen N100 light meter.

Recently purchased rangefinder and lens in very clean condition. The 1:1 viewfinder is a bit tricky with eyeglasses as far as composing is concerned. Interesting results, I'm going to have some fun with this camera, especially once the weather improves. Too cold outside for this old dawg. × 25

Very nice album!! There was a 5cm Zunow f/1.1 made for Nikon rangefinders like S2. Up to the late 1950's, it was the fastest lens in the world, and it was even very sharp. It's very rare and valuable, so just haunt garage sales, and just like your chance to win Lotto, you might find one cheap. I won this on an eBay auction for ~$360 + shipping and thought I paid too much until I found out how rare and expensive it really is. Look here: www.lomography.com/homes/herbert-4/walls/230612-purest-unob… So, UVA photos this spring!! Sometimes improbable luck is made by persistance...

@herbert-4 Thanks for the comment and likes! My first rangefinder, the lens I bought years a go and the body in Dec. I'll get some more pictures up soon. Thanks for the info on the 5cm Zunow f/1.1, very interesting!

I got price wrong on that UKA fused quartz lens. I was looking at my account, and for everything, it was closer to $660. Still good deal.
