    condiviso da yokosima il 2024-04-24

I inherited a NIKON FM that was used by my uncle who passed away last year. For the first time, I changed the moltoprene myself and polished the camera little by little. So Nikon FM has become my favorite camera. …This is the first roll of film I took with that.

    condiviso da roaringtree il 2024-04-23

Sunrise captured through the boundary oaks in the Field of Dreams glamping site. 2 hour exposure on watercolour paper single coted with New Formula cyanotype solution. Few other methods could capture the track of the sun like this... imperfect in every way but captures the 'feel'!

The images in this set and indeed the whole album ‘Swedish Camera Club’ are very much about a lesson of learning. In an attempt to move closer towards the true essence of analogue photography the Olympus Pen EE series ‘point and shoot’ cameras I typically use for my triptych studies were retired to the display cabinet and simple but solidly built Olympus Pen-S was summoned for the shutter work. Without the mechanical automation marvels of the Maitani’s electric eye exposure system and the focus free fixed lenses that accompanies the Pen EE models, I did have to work harder to obtain a sharp focus and a decent exposure on the Pen-S. Set the focus distance. Set the shutter speed. Set the aperture. Press the shutter release. These steps all sound simple enough but growing up in a world of automation and obliging machines calculating and compensating for correctness, I had much to learn. So I learned to count in feet. Judge distances by eye and chant ancient mantras from the book of Sunny 16.

First time trying ECN2 film, Fuji Eterna 160T Vivid. The photos were taken with my Olympus Trip35. I am quite happy with the results. These photos have been lightly edited in Lightroom, framing, contrast, lights, shadows, etc. I found that the framing lines on the Trip35 are completely loose, which sometimes resulted in noticeably strange framing. If I turn the camera upside down and tap it, I can see the lines in the viewfinder going all over the place. The red flag never appears, allowing you to always take the photo, even if there is not enough light. But I can't complain...the camera cost 2.5 USD...!!! Just use some common sense for the lighting situation and frame with very loose edges. /// Primera vez probando película ECN2, Fuji Eterna 160T Vivid.
