Canon T50 with Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 The Canon T50, launched in 1983, was the first in Canon's T-series and focused heavily on simplicity and ease of use. It’s a 35mm SLR with a Canon FD mount, designed as a bridge between fully manual cameras and the rising trend of automatic models. Paired with the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens, it’s a lightweight, reliable, and user-friendly setup—perfect for beginners or as a second body for experienced photographers. Fully Automatic Operation The T50 offers only Program Auto (P) exposure mode, meaning the camera selects both shutter speed and aperture for you. There are no manual exposure settings, making it ideal for those who want to shoot without worrying about the technical details. In low light, a blinking "P" in the viewfinder warns of potential motion blur. Shutter and Film Advance It features an electronically controlled metal-blade shutter with speeds from 2 seconds to 1/1000 sec. The built-in motor advances the film automatically at approximately 1.4 frames per second. Film rewind is manual via a crank. The camera runs on two AA batteries, enough to shoot about 50 rolls of 36 exposures. Viewfinder and Controls The bright viewfinder offers 0.83× magnification and shows about 92% vertically and 93% horizontally of the actual image. Inside the viewfinder, you’ll only see a “P” and a warning light—no shutter speed or aperture info. There’s also a built-in self-timer and a standard hot shoe for external flash units. Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 Lens The included Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 is a compact, fast prime lens known for its sharpness and smooth bokeh. With its wide f/1.8 aperture, it excels in low light and offers excellent subject isolation. On the T50, it works best in the "A" (auto) position on the lens, allowing the camera to control aperture. Manual aperture use is limited to a fixed shutter speed of 1/60 second. #CanonT50#CanonFD#35mmPhotography#FilmCamera#SLR#FilmIsNotDead#ShootFilmStayBroke#CanonFD50mm#AnalogPhotography#VintageCamera#FilmCommunity#ClassicCanon#Filmisalive#ShootFilm#CanonLovers#OldSchoolCamera#FilmGear#FilmLife#RetroCamera#CanonFilm#FilmObsession#BackToBasics#FullyAutoSLR#CanonTSeries#FDlens#35mmFilm#F1point8#FastGlass#FilmCamerasOfInstagram#MadeInThe80s#CompactSLR
