The Holga Mod: Modifying the Aperture Settings
Scritto da urban_spacegirl il 2012-04-03 in #gear #tutorialsIf you are a hardcore Holga fan or have already taken the time to look up some sites featuring Holga mods and hacks (or to take apart your camera for that matter), you will know that the Holga, despite sporting a switch for two different aperture settings for sunny and cloudy conditions, only features one aperture. This is due to the fact that switching from cloudy to sunny causes an arm to slide in front of the lens opening, the area of the hole on that arm (which is supposed to allow less light in) is larger than that of the aperture; i.e. the amount of light remains the same.

Pouva Start: Another Cult Camera
Scritto da alex34 il 2011-07-30 in #gearThe Pouva Start is quite a well known "cult" camera from the former East Germany. However, it hasn't been reviewed on Lomography before, despite it's Holga-like goodness. Here's a short review.

Zenit 12 SD: An Awkward but Likeable Customer
Scritto da alex34 il 2012-02-20 in #gearThe Zenit 12 SD represents one of the last 'unbreakable' Zenit cameras, built like a tank.
