Cosina CT-7 / Tokina RMC 25–50mm f/4 🕹️ Year: 1981 🔍 Lens: Tokina RMC 25–50mm f/4 ⏱️ Shutter speeds: 8s to 1/1000s (auto), 2s to 1/1000s (manual) The Cosina CT-7 is a 35mm SLR camera launched in the early 1980s, right at the moment when electronic controls began to take over the analog camera world. One of the first things you’ll notice is its unique button-based shutter speed control—no traditional dial here. Shutter speeds are selected electronically, with a clear LED readout in the viewfinder to guide your exposure. There's also a built-in electronic self-timer (approx. 10 seconds), perfect for group shots or self-portraits. The camera uses the Pentax K-mount, making it compatible with a wide range of lenses—including the Tokina RMC 25–50mm f/4. This compact zoom lens has a constant f/4 aperture, which makes it reliable in changing light conditions. It’s sharpest at 25mm and produces slightly softer results at 50mm—giving images that distinct vintage softness so many analog shooters love. Tokina equipped the lens with their RMC (Reflective Multi Coating) to cut down on flares and unwanted reflections. It’s a lens with personality, well-suited for anything from city scenes to candid portraits. Together, the Cosina CT-7 and Tokina 25–50mm make for a capable and approachable duo for anyone wanting to explore analog photography through a sleek '80s machine. A true gem of its era.
